Workshops

Part of the mission of CFP is the continuing learning about and increasing our own understanding of Flamenco as a performing art. With this in mind, we periodically organize workshops taught by renowned Flamenco dancers and guitarists who we bring to town. We also collaborate with other cultural organizations in organizing such workshops when a major Flamenco company visits Pittsburgh.

Just last year we were able to invite Aurora Reyes from NYC and Omayra Amaya from Florida. We also collaborated with the Guitar Society of Fine Arts (GSFA) in organizing workshops with Marija Temo and Anna Menendez, from the DC area. This year we are hosting the American Dance Force and bringing master Antonio Vargas to teach a workshop in Alegrias and Tientos. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops!!

Classes

We offer seasonal classes. Every winter, spring, and fall we hold 10 week courses on Flamenco dancing. We also have short summer sessions in July. Each term we offer beginner through intermediate classes covering technique and different palos of Flamenco. For a detailed list of our current schedule, please visit the Classes page.
